Turning off CC option was created by Ian Dalkin
In the configuration panel, there is an option to enable CC types. If one of the options is clicked, there is no way to turn this off. So even though we don't have a CC payment plugin enabled, it still shows as a payment option in the front end for a new subscriber. So the question is: how do we disable CC as a payment option (we are going to use the Eway option).

Hi Ian
That's strange. Could you please submit a support ticket sending us admin and FTP account of your site? I will check to see what's wrong and get it corrected for you.
Regards,
Tuan

Hi Ian
Thanks for submitting support ticket. I just read your description of the problem again and I think it is invalid.
You can simply press control key on the keyboard and click on the item you want to select and it will be un-selected. It is a standard web browser behavior.
=> Eway payment method is a credit card based payment plugin. With that plugin, users can enter credit card information directly on your site to process payment. So if you want to use Eway, you could not disable credit card payment option.
Hope my explanation is clear to you
Regards,
Tuan

Thank you Tuan,
My client hasn't arranged the Eway account yet, so I'm doing the research.
If our website hosts the CC payment gate, this will surely mean that we will need SSL, is that the case? I thought the whole idea of Eway is that they create the secure socket and the CC handling part of it is behind the bank's secure paywall, not ours. Capturing CC details on the site will make us a target for hackers, true? Are the CC details stored in the database? If that is the case, we will also need industrial-grade security.

Hi Ian
It doesn't capture the credit card data and store that data in the database on your site. It just get the credit card data and pass them directly to Eway for processing payment , so yes, your site will need to have an SSL certificate.
