Credit Cards processing? was created by Marianne
Maybe I read it wrong. Does this component allow for credit card processing? I'm not getting credit cards like Visa or MC in the options for "payment method" part of the subscription form.

www.epsychiatryonline.com/index.php/abou...p?view=register&id=1

Is that possible and where do I find information on configuring that?

Thanks for your patience. Just getting my feet wet on this.

Hi Marianne

If you want to get payment via credit card directly on your site, you will need to have a merchant account which support credit card payment like Authorize.net, Paypal Pro, Eway...

The extension doesn't have a payment plugin allows you to collect credit card number of customers at the moment.

Ugh, that's too bad.
That is one of the client's requirements that it allows to take credit cards.
Any idea when this will be an option?

Any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Marianne

Just so I understand, even if I get a merchant account, I still won't be able to take credit card payments with this extension, correct?

Hi Marianne,

I think you can take direct card payments if you have a merchant account as Tuan says, but I just use the paypal route and if a customer wants to use a card instead of paypal account they can, paypal allows this on their login screen.

You probably knew that anyway, but it hasn't been a problem for my membership site payments so might be worth talking through with client.

Thanks. I'm new at doing e-commerce so I apologize for not knowing. This is a learning process for me.

Does this still require a user to login to PayPal first before paying with a credit card?
Can I put something like a "pay by credit card" button in this system that's integrated with a Merchant Account?

The client is requiring that payment can be made from the customer with a credit card.

I'm not a programmer, so I was hoping I could find a solution like this. It does everything else that fits the requirements of my project.

Thanks again,

Marianne

When you are redirected to paypal at checkout there is a pay by credit card option on the paypal landing page, so no need to log in or have a paypal account.

In fairness I've never used another online payment method so others in here might have other ideas, but paypal as a brand is largely recognised as a safe way to transact so my customers actually like it.

You need to also consider the extra SSL required if you are inputting credit card details direct into your website.

Ok, I think this may work then.
Any where I can see this in action so I can show the client?
