Problem with failed subscription attempt was created by Denise Montana
Membership Pro v. 1.6.2
Joomla 3.0.3
I have recently installed Membership Pro on a dev site and am experiencing some issues with the subscription process.
1- If my payment fails when I attempt to subscribe, when I hit the back button the form is all cleared out. And if I try to re-enter my information, I'm told that a user with that user name already exists. So even though the payment failed, my user information shows up in the Subscribers area as pending. At that point the user has no way to complete the subscription.
2- I'm using Authorize.net payment plugin. I have it set to test mode in the plugin settings and to test mode on authorize.net, and I'm not able to get a transaction to process. I get an error message that says "User authentication failed due to invalid authentication values."
Thank you for any help you can provide.

Hi
For the issue #1, I will find a solution for the problem. I think It will take me 2 or 3 days for working on the solution. Please wait for us.
For issue #2, I think it is just a problem with the account you are using. Maybe you can try our test account :
API Login : 2Sht9m67PD
Transaction Key: 35J2rq5d6LtJ2Yg6
Please test it with that account and It should work. Or maybe you can even test it in Live Mode !
Regards,
Tuan

Hi -- I'm checking in to see how you're coming with a resolution to our issue. We're launching our site next Monday (Sept 9) so are certainly hoping to have it fixed by then.
Thank you for sending your test account details. They are working for us.

I am having the same problem as number 1 above. I am using authorize.net and paypal as the payment options. If the payment fails for some reason a fail message is returned. But the user account has been created, but is not "enabled" in the Joomla Users database, and shows as "pending" status in Membership Pro. At his point the user cannot log in to retry the payment.
How do I enable the person to be able to log in with the user name and password they entered and try paying a second time?

To follow up with a bit more information.
I have Membership Pro set to add new subscribers as a Joomla User. In the Joomla User Manager if a credit card payment fails, the user is not "enabled." As a result, any attempt to login or register again fails saying the user is "blocked." If I manually change the user to enabled, now the person can log in, return to the payment page, and try again.
So the problem is that a person is being added to as a User in Joomla BEFORE the payment is processed. If it is changed so that the person is added as a User only upon successful payment, this problem should go away because Joomla won't know they exist until after a successful payment.
Can this be changed by manually editing one of the files in the extension?

Hi Craig
As replied via support ticket, the workaround is change settings in Joomla users component so that when users register, his account will be enabled automatically !

Tuan

Hi Tuan
Any chance you can make this solution public on the forum? I'm having a similar issue, whether with users payments failing or dropping out of system at payment stage and trying to return later and being unable to because the user isn't enabled, but their email address is now unavailable to create a new user.
Thanks
Brian

Hi Brian
Go to Users -> Users Manager, click on Options button in the toolbar, find the config option "New User Account Activation", set it to None.
After that, users account will be enabled automatically and it should solve the issue.

Hi Tuan
Unfortunately I already have that as my setting (I allow account creation without purchase too.) New users appear as Activated, but not Enabled. BTW using J2.5
