Paid offline but renewal with paypal

when a user paid offline (equal if he is already activated or still pending), he can go back to the subscriptions and click the 'renew' button beside the transaction. After this he's getting the option to pay with paypal.
Shouldn't it be better when there is no chance to select the renewal as long as the payment type is offline? Or is my kind of thinking wrong?!
Additionally (I already wrote it inside an old thread) there is a problem with confirmations/approvals after changing a user from pending to active - he's not getting any mail. So I have to write a mail by myself to the user after his offline-payment arrived.
Any idea for a fix?
Thanks in advance for the great support. :side:

=> I will think more about it. However, I think we should still allows him to renew the subscription if his subscription is now active (he paid for his offline payment already).

Sure, but why is it paypal suddenly? He paid offline, so by clicking on 'renew' there should be the offline-setting again, not paypal. What about changing the code so the window with the offline/paypal-option would be there again?!

Thanks! Unfortunately it only worked once. I tried it many, many times and there was only ONE approval notification out of more than 10 test-payments. So the function is not completely broken.

I think this shouldn't be the case, offline payment options should be loaded as well during renewal or upgrading so the user can pay however he wants (not necessarily the same way as when he initially registered).
I am using version 1.5.4

I think it's very important to allow users to choose to renew their subscription using either offline or online payments. I'm managing a site where many of the members have registered and paid offline, but when they try to renew, they only see the PayPal option and don't know what to do. They just stop and contact the organization, and their subscription has to be reactivated manually. Could you please offer this option for users who have successfully paid offline in the past?
Thanks very much -
Anne
