[20-August-2024] Membership Pro Version 4.0.0 For Joomla 4 And Joomla 5 Releases

Dear customers !

Today, I am happy to announce the next major release of Membership Pro, version 4.0.0. Below are the improvements in this release:

1. A Separate Version For Joomla 4 and Joomla 5

- Raise minimum PHP requirement to 7.4.0
- Raise minimum Joomla version requirement to 4.2.0
- Clean up code, remove the code which is needed to support Joomla 3
- Use latest Joomla API available for Joomla 4.2.0+
- Drop Support For Twitter Bootstrap 2 and Twitter Bootstrap 3
- Convert plugins in the extension to use Subscriber Interface (available on Joomla 4+), thus make these plugins work faster

We will still maintain support for Joomla 3, but mostly bugs fixes and minor improvements. Future improvements will only focus for Joomla 4+.

2. Small Improvements And Bugs Fixes
- Improve Membership Pro - User Files plugin: Added parameter to allow controlling how the files are sorted (by name in ASC or DESC ordering)
- Improve Member Card Feature: Allows using the user's uploaded images in member card.
- Improve Expired Subscribers Export: Showing the expired date in the export result.
- Fixed tags on subscription upgrade message does not work well on multilingual website
- Fixed fatal error on joining group membership on PHP 8.1+

Thanks for the latest update.
Just one quick question on "Improve Member Card Feature: Allows using the user's uploaded images in member card." Can this be done at any time, or only when the user signs up for a Membership Plan?  For Group Membership, can only the Group Admin upload the image, or can the Group member do it themselves?

It's up to you to setup. If group admin add members manually, then he will upload the file himself

If you allow users to join the group, then group members will upload themself

I guess you should try it yourself to see the behavior

Happy to see latest improvements to support latest features of Joomla 4+.

Thanks Fred. Having a separate package for Joomla 3 and one for Joomla4/Joomla 5 would allow us to improving the extensions easier for future releases of Joomla.

For Joomla 3, we only maintain the package for now. New features/improvements will mostly be added to the version for Joomla 4 / Joomla 5 only

How do I download the Joomla 3 version if required (my J5 site isnt ready yet). My list of downloads only shows the v4.0 version
