Replied by Mr. Dam on topic JD Paypal Pro vs JD Paypal Standard Checkout
Hi Maaz,
JD PayPal Pro and JD PayPal Standard Checkout are both methods of integrating PayPal as a payment processor in Joom Donation, but they offer different features and levels of integration. Here's the difference between the two:
1. JD PayPal Pro
JD PayPal Pro is a more advanced PayPal integration. It allows for more customization and control over the payment experience. Key features include:
- Direct Payments: Customers stay in Joom Donation to complete the payment process. You collect payment details (like credit card info) directly on your checkout page.
- Customization: You can customize the look and feel of the payment page.
- Advanced Features: PayPal Pro includes features like recurring billing, subscription payments, and support for advanced payment methods like credit card payments without the need for a PayPal account.
- Risk & Compliance: You need to handle some of the security, fraud prevention, and compliance requirements on your own, as you're directly processing payments.
- This payment option only can be used with owner from US, UK and Canada.
2. JD PayPal Standard Checkout
JD PayPal Standard Checkout is a simpler and easier integration. It’s often used by smaller businesses or websites that want a straightforward, secure payment solution with less effort. Key features include:
- PayPal Hosted Checkout: Instead of collecting payment information directly on your site, customers are redirected to PayPal’s website to complete the payment (either using their PayPal account or a credit card).
- Simplicity: The integration is easier to set up and doesn’t require as much customization or security management. You just need to connect your PayPal account.
- Limited Customization: The payment page is hosted on PayPal’s site, so it’s less customizable compared to PayPal Pro.
- Security & Compliance: Since PayPal handles the payment processing, you don't need to worry about managing sensitive payment details or security compliance (like PCI DSS).
In summary:
- JD PayPal Pro gives you more control over the payment experience, with the ability to process payments directly on your site and more advanced features, but requires more setup and security management.
- JD PayPal Standard Checkout is easier to implement, uses PayPal's hosted checkout page, and is less customizable, but it’s simpler and safer for smaller businesses.
Currently, at frontend, Joom Donation only allow campaign owner to enter their Paypal, Authorize.net and Offline payment information.
Thanks
