Hi there,

New to JoomDonation, I have installed, configured it  - running Joomla 5.1.1 and found that I had to switch to Twitter Bootstrap 5 for the layout on the front end to look 'good'/normal.
Using Default Layout not simple layout.

What I tried to find was a way to have the Donor Fields be in 2 columns vs what is currently 1 tall column and I tried using  each fields' Container Size of 1/2 or 1/3 but nothing changes ;(

What I want is First Name and its fields and Last Name and its field on the same line,
Address to be full line [that I know how to do] and City, State, etc to be on the same line below that... etc

i.e. the result to be a lot more horizontal and less vertical.

HELP ;)

Thank you very much,
Sincerely,

Emmanuel for Jean.

P.S.: OVERALL - great component!

P.S.S.: I tried looking in the forums or on YouTube but couldn't find an answer - sorry :(

Hi Jean,
In Default layout, all fields will be shown vertically. I advise you to use Simple Donation layout to make fields to be 2 fields per row
Thanks

Hello Dam,

Actually, I looked at the Simple Donation option but it doesn't look good and is too compact which is stressful (I did a usability test with a few users to see their reaction and that was their feedback).

How can we create 2 columns for the Donor Information in the Default Donation option - there should be a way right? it's bootstrap after all...

Looking forward to a solution, thanks,

Sincerely,

Emmanuel for Jean.

Hi Jean,
I am afraid that is impossible to make 2 columns per row in Default Donation layout.
Thanks

Hi Dam,

Thanks for the reply but sad that you won't help.

There is almost no such thing as impossible in web design and particularly in this case since this is CSS. I have spent literally < 45 minutes and solved it - I was just hoping you had a solution in hand that you could have sent me or an updated file which would have saved me time ;)

In the future, please do not say to users that it's not possible when it is totally doable. You can totally say that that isn't something that you include in your support or that it's not a function of the component or many other answers NO problem but not that's it's impossible.

Someone who isn't used to building websites would give up vs get what they want or worse that your component couldn't do what they want with it :(

Still love the solution just be careful the approach to replies/customers. (hug)

Cheers,

Emmanuel for Jean.

Hi Jean,
Actually, if you want to have 2 columns per row in Donation form, you can use Simple Donation layout, and i can make the modification to show field labels like Default Donation layout for you. It is easier than customizing the Default donation layout (making 2 fields per row)
Thanks
Dam
