Move Simple Donation Layout Elements was created by Dave B
Hello, my client is asking for the order of the form elements to be changed. I don't know what or how to even begin to figure this out. They would like the donation frequency to be above the contact details. Is there a way for #3 to be where #2 is now?

Thank you

    There aren't any option to move field groups in Simple Donation layout, you can modify Simple Donation layout in: root -> components -> com_jdonation -> view -> donation -> simpleflow_layout.php

    How can this be done so no updates break the form?

    Hi,
    As i answered you in previous comment, you can modify file: root -> components -> com_jdonation -> view -> donation -> simpleflow_layout.php
    And you can add that file in your template based on this direction:
    root -> templates -> your_using_template -> html -> com_jdonation -> donation -> simpleflow_layout.php
    And making modification on override layout to avoid overridden in future.

    Honestly, my client is correct about these fields being above the contact details. Every major worldwide charity has this field above the contact details.

    Can't you just give us a choice of where to place this? I can show you countless well known online donation websites that have it placed above the contact details.

    I am unsure of why we have such little say in the layouts of the forms?

    So you will not help? I don't know what code to move.

    I still think you should consider allowing some order based on the customer's needs. You are the only donation form I have ever seen with the fields grouped in this order. Not sure why you think it's the best way?

    After looking at 40+ top global donation sites and not one single form has the fields in this order because they are supposed to be together, I will try and convince the developer to fix this. It is not like this in the old default layout, only this new layout. Why did they suddenly decide to do it like this and confuse the user? Very poor user experience choosing the amount, then at the end of the form another monetary decision needs to be made. I feel like you may even be losing some recurring donations because users are too far in the process and don't want to go back and change it. You don't decide how much to invest thinking it's one time and then get to the end of the form and have to rethink the whole thing. This is psychology 101. In any event, it's a mistake and needs correcting. Unless all other donation sites in the world are wrong, and this is some revolutionary new way to think?

    I am trying to help all users. Dam, please fix this so it's in a logical order. Correct = money, contact info, payment details. Incorrect = money, contact info, money, payment details. They are literally part of the same decision. You have them as separate decisions in the new layout.

    This should actually be the first choice in the form based on what I see on all other sites. Some of these other nonprofits are huge global organizations. I hardly think they got this wrong.
