Hi Fra,
The Recurring option is depend on your using payment gateway, if the payment gateway supports recurring feature, the recurring option will be shown.
Currently, there are some payment plugin support recurring
- Stripe
- Paypal
- Paypal Pro

I see so would that mean cardsave doesn’t support recurring payments then?

Yes, the payment plugin: JD Cardsave doesn't support recurring feature.
