The E-mail sent to the donor has the WRONG AMOUNT was created by Esau Meza
Hello,
We pay for the PayPal processing fee, so that our donors don't get confused with the additional fees. So if a donor donates one dollar, they should get an E-mail from our website stating that the amount donated was $1.00. The E-mail that PayPal sends out after they make a donation is correct, but the User E-mail sent by JoomDonation states $1.32.
I know that PayPal is charging the right amount, and we are paying for the processing fees. Why is the JoomDonation User E-mail stating under the DONATION_DETAIL that the amount was $1.32? It seems that it is adding a percentage to the amount field. Under Configuration / General / Payment gateway fee / I have 0 (%) in the box. Any idea how I can correct this? And also is there a way to stop sending the User E-mail? Thanks for your help!
We are using Joom Donation version 5.4.4 on Joomla! 3.8.10. We only use PayPal to process credit card payments, and we don't accept offline donations. We also use Event Booking.

Hi Esau,
You mean that in Donation email, the total amount doesn't include payment fee, right? Could you please submit ticket and send your site url with super admin account for checking the issue?
Thanks
Dam

Hello Dang,
I submitted a ticket with the requested information. The total amount should NOT INCLUDE the payment fee. If the donor donates $1.00 that is what the E-mail should state, but that is not not what it is happening. It seems to be including the payment fee and that is not what we want. The problem happens inside the DONATION_DETAIL variable field.
Thanks for your help.

Hi,
I have the same issue.
The donor pays 5 euros, the email states 5.52 euros.
This is happening since last update, and it's very confusing for donor and receiver. I don't want payment fee to be included in the email and receipt.
Thank you

We have the same issue. It is further complicated by currency issues.
1 We have USD as our default currency. Donors often assume the default is their own currency, and then are shocked to find they have paid a quite different amount than they intended. It would be very helpful if the currency selection dropdown on the donation page defaulted to displaying the default currency.
2 Donors expect their receipts to be in the same currency they donated. As a test, I donated NZD100. The receipt said $68 (no currency stated) where [AMOUNT] was stipulated. I suggest the receipt should always be in the user selected currency, and should preferably state that currency with the amount.
Regards
David
