16th April 2018 - New Joom Donation version 5.4

The Joom Donation developer team are proud to announce the release of Joom Donation 5.4. This is a fifth release for the 5.x series of Joom Donation with new improvement and addresses issues introduced in previous versions.

What new in Joom Donation 5.4

1. Compatible with Joomla 4
Joomla 4 is planned to release sometime this year, so I decided to go ahead to work and make the extension compatible with Joomla 4. So if you want to update your sites to Joomla 4 or build new websites with Joomla 4, you know that Joom Donation is already compatible.
2. Support Twitter Bootstrap Version 4
Twittter Bootstrap version 4 was released at the beginning of this year and there have been template clubs build template base on this latest version of this great front-end framework.
If you built new sites using a template base on twitter bootstrap 4, you can setup Joom Donation to use this twitter bootstrap version (same with how we support twitter bootstrap version 2 and twitter bootstrap version 3). With this improvement, we even planned to support for UIKit in the future, too
3. Improve Stripe payment plugin
Update Stripe payment plugin to works with latest Stripe API. If you use this latest Stripe plugin, please update your account to use latest Stripe API
4. Add Exclude Campaign IDs in Donors list
Now, you can add Exclude Campaign IDs in Donors list to hide donation from those campaigns in Donors list
5. Improve Mollie payment plugin
Now, you can make Recurring donation with Mollie payment plugin
6. Add responsive feature with table layouts
Now, 2 table layouts Donors list and Donation history are responsive, they can be shown well on any screen sizes.
7. Add new tag [DONATION_TYPE] in email templates
From this version, you can use tag: [DONATION_TYPE] in email templates of Joom Donation component.

Bit disappointed that this updated Stripe plugin for JoomDonation still doesn't allow you to set a processing charge like the Stripe plugin for EventBooking does

Actually, if we add Payment fee for plugins, it will be a huge work because we should change in all Joom Donation payment plugins, but we will consider to improve it in future.

Ah, but you did say that also several versions back now! I'm surprised the plugin code is not identical for all products here since the interface to the external gateway is the same for each gateway? Even if not I'm sure there is lots you can copy from them? It does seem odd that this feature is supported by some of your products and not others

Hello. I am using Joomla 3.8.x with JDonation 5.3. When I try to download the 5.4 update I receive a 403 error. Can you please help me download the update? I do not see the place for this on your website either. -John

Hi John,
Have you registered a Download ID from: www.joomdonation.com/download-ids.html and entered it into Joom Donation configuration yet?
And please check to confirm the Joomla installer plugin: Joom Donation - Update package is already published.
After that, you can try to upgrade Joom Donation normally.

I have done this already - download and register the Download ID.

I'm also unwilling to share the password for my site admin. page. It seems as though the URL for the download is not valid. Is there a URL I can try to perform the download?

Is it possible for you to start using versions for the Stripe and any other plugins so it's not so confusing? The Stripe plugin still says version 1.0 which I am fairly certain this is not the first version.

Can you please then list this in the Downloads like the rest of the extensions. This is very important for users to know what version is available vs what we have installed.
