Authorize.Net 2016 changes was created by Peg Doyle
Hi Tuan,
I believe the upcoming changes by authorize.net will not affect Joom Donation, but would like confirmation from you:
Field lengths for all authorize.net fields must allow for up to 20 characters in length
Transaction ID will no longer be sequential
TLS 1.0 will be disabled, and TLS 1.1 may be disabled soon as well
RC4 cipher suite will be diabled
The Joom Donation API uses a domain name and does not connect directly via an IP address
Thank you very much. We have over 30 campaigns using Joom Donation with great success.
Peg

Hi Tuan,
We are also looking for clarification on this. Will Joom Donation work after RC4 cipher has been disabled? Here are some excerpts from Authorize.Net's notification;
"If your system has any functionality that expects Authorize.Net-generated IDs to be sequential, please update it immediately so that you will not see any disruptions. "
"If you are required to define a character limit when storing any of our IDs, the limit should be no less than 20 characters."
"if you have a solution that relies on RC4 to communicate with our servers, please update it to a current, high-security cipher as soon as possible. Please review our API best practices blog post for more information. "
"As we get further into 2016, we want to remind you of our previously announced Akamai SureRoute implementation plan and timelines. Using Akamai's technology will help safeguard against interruptions caused by issues beyond our direct control, such as Internet congestion, fiber cable cuts and other similar issues.
If you have not already, please review the announcement and the Akamai FAQs to determine what action you should take for your particular solution."
Will these changes effect current donation forms using Joom Donation?

Hi
The only change which affect Joom Donation (and all of our extensions are Akamai SureRoute). We are working on the change and test it in the next two weeks
You can come back to us in the next two weeks and we will have the updated version of the extension sent to you with the necessary change
Regards,
Tuan

Even if we don't make change, it will still works well. However, according to Authorize.net, making the change will make the payment system more reliable, so we will still go ahead to add this change to our extensions

Tuan

We are using JoomDonation 4.3 which seems to be your latest. Do we need to make any changes for the upcoming Authorize.net switch to Akamai service? See

How about Payment Form? will the changes to Authorize.net effect anything with payment form?

Hi, I'm also checking on this. The Authorize.net changes lock in at the end of this month, but the last released version of JoomDonation was in February, according to this:
joomdonation.com/joomla-extensions/joom-...paypal-donation.html
If we have this version installed, is it just the Authorize.net plugin that needs to be updated?
Thanks!
