It must be something special on your site causing the issue (maybe conflict with one extension on your site). Please submit a support ticket sending us super admin account of your site. I am going to check to see what's wrong and get it corrected for you.

This is happeneing to my site also.
clicking on process payment brings up a blank screen that has text at the top saying "Please stop automatic payments"

It is like Joom Donation has been hacked.

It is not. It is one of the feature of Joom Donation which prevent multiple donations in a short time. Please send me admin account of your site via support ticket so that I can check to see what's wrong and get it corrected.
