Do we need SSL for using Stripe? was created by safeworld4women
Hi Tuan
I was looking at Stripe the other day to see if it could be integrated into JD and today I have found that you have created a plugin for it!
Awesome!
One question...
I read somewhere that you need an SSL in order to use Stripe
On the Stripe page here it says:
Do I need to use SSL on my payment pages?
Yes, for a couple of reasons:
It's more secure. In particular, it significantly reduces your risk of being exposed to a man-in-the-middle attack.
Users correctly feel more comfortable sharing their payment information on pages visibly served over SSL. Your conversion rate is likely to be higher if your pages are served over SSL too.
Is this the case if we use the Stripe plugin?
Thanks so much
Andrew

Hi Andrew
Yes. You should have an SSL certificate for you site if you want to use Stripe payment gateway (or any credit card based payment gateway where customers enter credit card information directly on your site to process payment)
Regards,
Tuan
