New Release

How's progress going on the new release of JoomDonation? Any updates on a delivery date? Waiting eagerly to see it!!

I decided to delay the release until next week (I think lately date will be Wednesday) so that our designer can have time to change the layout of the campaigns page and campaigns module

We will have final review of the design this afternoon, then our template developer will start integrating the design into the latest release.

Because I am in mid -redevelopment of our donation system could you give me an idea what changes are being made in the update you are about to release?
it will also help me as a I compile a list of possible customisations for you to quote on!

The new release will should be available on Wednesday. Here are some important changes:

1. I re-wrote the code of the extension from scratch using our own component development library to make the code cleaner, removing all duplication codes....

2. All the fields on donation form are now manageable. All fields are treated as custom fields. So you can publish, unpublish , change ordering of the fields.... to meet your own need.

3. We improved the layout of :

- Campaigns page to make it nicer
- Campaigns module layout
- Donors module layout...

And few other small changes.

Another change in the new version is that we removed confirmation step. I think that it will save time for donor to make donation.

We still need some small changes to the layout as well. But that should show you how the new version looks like

Impressive and very interesting indeed
And along thoughts that I have been having.
Out of interests sake have you been able to look at the back-end.
One of the small issues we have faced is the fact that it is not possible, when using different currencies, to see what currency a donation was made in.

Ah, OK, nice find. Will address it in this new release as well. However, it will only affect new donation records. As we don't store currency of the old donation records .

New feature:

When you create a campaign, you can now select the donation type which it can accept :

1. One time donation

2. Recurring donation

3. Both one time and recurring donation

The demo site for new version is up now demo.joomdonation.org . We will continue do some more testing and hopefully have it release on tomorrow. I am very happy with this new version
