Custom Fields Location

Is it possible to place the custom fields BEFORE the donor information in the donation page?

Unfortunately, it is not possible. If you want to change the position, you will need to edit the code. Maybe you can try to look at the file components/com_jdonation/views/donation/tmpl/default.php and try to change the code ?

Is this still the case with v. 3.7 of JoomDonation, or can we now change the ordering of all fields, since they are all custom fields in 3.7?

In version 3.7 + (3.8 is latest version now, just released today), we don't have to change code anymore. Just go to Joom Donation -> Custom Fields, change ordering of custom fields to meet your need.
