Captcha won't display in donation form

We got flooded over the past month with spambot donation submissions.
So i enabled Captcha in the JoomDonation configuration. But the captcha is not being displayed.
I double checked that the public and private recaptcha keys were correct and in place in the plugin and that recaptcha is enabled.
How can we fix this?

The captcha is displayed on the donation confirmation page. However, it is not the Joomla core captcha. It is the PHP captcha system used by the component.

So please access to Donation Form, enter information, click next button and you will see Captcha displayed.
