Non-SSL Question

Hi, I'm using Joomdation with a regular http:// address. When I enable Authorize.net as the primary method of payment, the credit card fields appear to enter the cc info. Is it safe to allow a regular non-SSL connection to accept this info to process forward with Authorize.net?

I am sorry for lately response . I went to my home yesterday night for a family work and just come back to the office. To be honest, you should use https for authorize.net payment gateway . Without HTTPS, the credit card information will not be encrypted, and maybe someone can get this information while It is submitted to our site for processing .

So you should purchase an SSL certificate for your site .

Hi thanks Tuan. While I had been waiting to hear back from you, I spoke with a rep from Authorize.net and she said as long as your system doesn't collect the credit card number in the database she thought it would be ok.

The extension doesn't store credit card information in the database, so If she said that, It is OK for use the extension without HTTPS .
