Different currencies on Donate Form was created by safeworld4women
Hi Tuan
We have been using JoomDonation fro our Non Profit for almost 2 years now very happily!
www.asafeworldforwomen.org/sponsor-a-project.html
But we have one slight problem
People who donate to help the organisations we work with on our site do not all come from the USA and often they want to be able to pay in different currencies.
We would like to be able to offer different currencies for them to pay in. Not many perhaps Euro, Dollar, Pound
But we seem to be able to only have one option int he backend to choose which currency PayPal uses.
We made a mistake recently and set the donation form as US Dollars and the backend PayPal currency as UK Pounds. When people filled in $100 on the payment form they suddenly found they were paying £100 in paypal
Is there anyway to be able to have different payment currency options
So someone coudl choose to pay in US dollars or £sterling or Euro and for Paypal to recognise that each payment is a seperate currency?
We are still using J1.5 but in the process of building a second site in J2.5 so can upgrade the JoomDonation component if is makes a difference
Many thanks
Andrew and all at Safe World

Hi Andrew
Yes. The extension has that feature. Not sure what version you using but I am sure that it has the feature in latest version. You can try to go to Joom Donation->Configuration, find the config option Enable Currency Selection, set it to Yes.
After that, it will work as expected. If not, then you will have to upgrade to latest version in order to using that feature.

Hi Tuan
Thanks for the reply
We do have the latest version and I found the config option
Thanks for that
It works great
2 Questions
if you look at one of our forms here
1) When the payment is being processed and goes to the Payment Confirmation Screen it doesn't show which currency the amount is in (see image) How do i get the form to show the currency that the user has selected
Confirmation Screen
2) Is there anyway to have radio buttons instead of a dropdown for the currency selector?
3) Also - we just got a donation as I was writing!
In the backend under the donors details it doesn't show what currency the donation was paid in
Is there anyway to show that?
This is quite important for us because we are trying to raise certain amounts before we send to the reciepients and have to keep track what the total amount is in UK Pounds (our own currency)
So for instance the latest donation was 50 Euro - Paypal tells us that
But in the backend it just says Donation Amount = 50 (no currency)
Payment Details
is there a way to show which currency the donations were made in
Thanks so much

Hi Andrew
Sorry. At the moment, the extension doesn't store the currency in database. So we could not show the currency as you requested. I think you will have to do some customization in this case.

Hi Tuan
Is this a customisation you could do for us?
If not can you give us an idea what we would have to tell a developer to do to make it work?
Thanks so much
