Recurring donations

I have set up a recurring donation but nothing is showing in either the donors paypal account or the donation account that a subscription has been set up, will this payment actually go through for the frequency which has been stated...?

Here are how the recurring donation works :
- At the time you donate, the first payment will be processed, you will receive payment and the donor record will be showed from back-end as well .
- Next time the recurring payment process , the total amount of the donor record will be updated . You will also receive a notification email at the time .

Please test it again and If it doesn't work, submit a support ticket with information of your site . I will check it directly on your site .

It says in the back ACP that it is a recurring donation, thats not the problem.

My point is that if this has set up a proper subscription with paypal, then surely it should show in the users paypal account under reccuring payments.

I looked at the back-end of your site and saw that the record is showed properly, so I am not sure what is wrong here . Could you explain more detail about your problem so that I can check and fix it ?
The payment will go through at the frequency you specified while donating to the site for sure . I tested it already .

Isnt this meant to set up subscription with paypal? If so it doesn't.

If not does the component just send a charge at the frequency stated?

Yes . It setup a subscription with paypal . The first payment will be processed immediately . The next payments will be processed at the frequency you stated while donating . The donation amount of the donor record will be updated at the time the payment progressed .

I just tested again and saw that It is working properly . Please look at the attached image for more detail .
