How does the JomSocial fields integration work?

I see there is a "JomSocial fields mapping" tab on the Joom Donation configuration page, but can't get it to work. What do I need to enter here? I tried both the field name as it appears in the JomSocial Custom Profiles and also the field code (e.g. FIELD_FIRSTNAME) and was not able to get the donation form fields to pre-populate with data, which is what I thought the fields mapping would do... help...?

The more important issue (posted elsewhere) is to be able to put the donation form under SSL (https) connection - if that can't be done then I can't use Joom Donate.

Hi - still not clear on how the JomSocial fields integration works - please help me understand. I put in the field names for the JomSocial fields I want it to pull from, but it doesn't seem to be doing that. I am logged in to Joomla when trying this.
