Thermometer is gone... was created by jrupp
Suddenly my thermometer is gone. I haven't done anything with the site since it was last working. Does anyone know if the thermometer code (to the third party site) is broken. The pages with the thermometer take at least 30 seconds to load and then it shows a broken image link so I'm thinking it might be the code to whatever site provides the thermometer. Any ideas? Site is:
therosethatgrows.com/

Same problem for me, seems to be the external link to:
www.fundraiserinsight.org/libs/thermomet...&skin=small_vert
is down.
Did not realise the thermometer relied on an external file.
Would appreciate this being looked into quickly.
Thanks,
Mike

Looks like fundraiserinsight.org is down. I didn't even think to check it before I posted in this forum. Hopefully it will be back up soon. Tuan, do you have an knowledge of what's going on with them?

I fixed my thermometer by doing the following:
I found a free thermometer script and changed it to take the max and current values through the url. I also adjusted it so the size was roughly the same. I then uploaded the files to the server. You can get my modded files here:
www.web3d.co.uk/downloads/thermometer.zip
Once these are uploaded you need to edit the file modules/mod_jd_thermometer/tmpl/default.php and change line 40 from:
<img alt='<?php echo $row->title; ?>' src=' www.fundraiserinsight.org/libs/thermometer.php?current= &max=&curr=&t_id=0&skin=' border='0' />
to:
<img alt='<?php echo $row->title; ?>' src=' www.yoursite.com/yourFolder/thermo.php?current= &max=' border='0' />
You can see the result at www.stuartniven.org
Not as pretty but a good fix in case the original site never comes back. I think it never a good idea to rely on external scripts.
If you find this helpful please donate on www.stuartniven.org :)

Thanks for the post. I agree with you about relying on third party sites. Ya never know when they'll no longer be live. I have these sorority ladies loving the thermometer with the vine and lady bug, so I need to try to keep that. Hopefully the FI site will come back.

The site was back and everything should work fine now . In the next release, I will try to develop our own thermoter for Joom Donation (however, it could not look like the themometer which we are using currently) .

Tuan
