I have been aware of the feature for users and operators respond by email and the ticket is updated. With that, it’s a feature I have never used.
With that, I’d like to get this feature set-up. I configured the settings for the mail but have run into issues. Help Desk Pro is not able to log-in to the email account. It’s not a username/password issue. Google used to allow ‘less secure apps” where systems like this would work. Google has since eliminated that option and no longer allows less secure apps.
While I’m certain the username/password is correct, I still can’t get it logged in and I think it has to be related to that feature being eliminated. I *think* it has to do with google and a required more secure log-in (0Auth 2.0?).
Is anyone successfully using this feature with the less secure apps being eliminated? If you are using it sccuessfully, any thoughts on where I may be hitting the snag?

Maybe it would be simpler if you use a different email for this feature instead of using Gmail

Tuan, Thank You for the response and your time. Any suggestions? We are a non-profit and have services through Google through their Google Grants program. This includes Gmail. It's all branded for our non-profit but is run through Google's gmail. Aside from setting up a completely separate domain and finding a new e-mail provider specific for that domain, I'm not sure of our options. If it's not possible to use Help Desk Pro with gmail, it is what it is and I'll work around it. I think Help Desk Pro is a great system and will work around this set-back unless you have other suggestons/ideas.

We just uses an external library to read email from mailbox to create ticket/response. So if Gmail does not allow simple authentication uses username and password, it won't work
There is another option. You can create a different email account. Configure the plugin to uses that email and have Gmail forward emails to that email address.
That might work
