PDF attachments are causing a Joomla error was created by Kent Chadwick
HelpDesk Pro ticket PDF attachments are causing a Joomla error when a user tries to open one from the Joomla administrator site.
System details:
  • PHP 8.2.12
  • Joomla 4.4.0
  • Helpdesk Pro 5.3.1
Repro steps:
  1. Log into the Joomla administrator site
  2. Open HelpDesk Pro.
  3. Create a new ticket, attach a PDF, and save.
  4. Open the ticket.
  5. Click on the PDF attachment
Expected behavior: HelpDesk Pro will download the PDF to the local computer.

Observed behavior: HelpDesk Pro logs the user out of the Joomla administrator. The URL is like this:  phpstack-1005129-4052771.cloudwaysapps.c....Addendum_201207.pdf

Am I missing a configuration setting? Other document types don't have this problem. The front end HelpDesk UI doesn't have this problem either.

Hi Kent

Downloading a PDF file should not cause any problem like that. For this, we will have to check it directly on your site

Please submit a support ticket sending us super user account of your site and tell us step by step what we need to do to see the error

We are going to check to see why the issue happens and get it sorted
