Support for Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) Fees was created by Andras D.
Hi there, As the Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) is being rolled out across EU countries, Canada, US and Australia - 17 countries are already enforcing it - it’s becoming increasingly important for EShop to support handling fees associated with this initiative. DRS typically applies to bottled drinks and introduces an additional fee per item.To ensure compliance and usability for merchants, the feature should meet the following requirements:
- Product-level configuration: The DRS fee must be assignable per product, not at the store level, since it only applies to specific items.
- Dedicated tax rate setting: The fee should have its own tax rate configuration. Some countries apply a 0% tax to DRS fees, while others treat it as a standard taxable item.
- Category-specific rates: Different product categories may be subject to different DRS rates, so the system should support rate variation based on product type
