options in orders

When going to Sales/orders I would like to request a couple of options.
One, the ability to search by order number. Currently it does not work.
It would be nice if there was a column that shows shipping number that is linked to the actual shipping info page (example fedex).
it would be nice to set a default sorting status, like complete.
