Deposit / Partial Payment Option

I would love to see a deposit option or partial payment option available for EShop, with the following functions:

1) Option to set deposit to be percentage or flat amount on a per item or category basis (Would not want this feature on all items)
2) Ability to set a reminder notice for balance owing with the option to pay the balance online

We use deposits with the current Eshop system.

We set the product price to the deposit amount. In the product description, it clearly states that the price is a "deposit" and that the balance of "x dollars" will be invoiced once the product is ready for delivery.

Then we charge the customer the balance when we are ready to ship / have the customer come pick the item up, using the virtual terminal of our credit card processor or we send them an invoice for the balance in PayPal, depending on which payment method they want to use. I realize it's not exactly what you are asking for but it is a perfectly functional workaround.
