i just bought Eshop last Week and now had the time to dig a little deeper.
The Feature you suggested is already available in Eshop. The name is "Advanced Search" and it's a module which automatically installed with the Eshop package.
There are many settings you can configure like price (shows with a slider from min to max), category, manufacturer, options, attributes. All these settings can be selected on the front-page via slider or checkbox and you can filter you search based on these settings. Guess thats a pretty decent solution, since you can filter for pretty much everything.

Thank you for choosing EShop. And yes, you can use EShop Advanced Search module to search products based on many options which can be turned ON/OFF from back-end side of plugin.
Sincerely, Giang

Dear Giang, please look into offering this feature, even as an add-on sold separately!

My customer needs a filtering system too. One that looks like " Cherry Picker for Virtuemart ".
Do you have a plan to upgrade "Eshop Advanced Search" module so it works like this?
If not, will you do it as a custom job?
Thanks.
P.S. for the time being, it makes much more sense if the current category were selected by default, that is, when we are in men's page, if the "men" category is selected by default, and the user sets a price range, so the results will be men's clothes with selected price range (as expected by user, I guess!)

It seems that the feature I talked about is already implemented, but for some reason it doesn't work:
file:
It should check "Men's Shirt" checkbox by default, when we are in Men's Shirt page.
update:
I found out that the variable $categoryIds is empty!
