Send invoice only to selected registrants (or events)

I would like to send invoices to some registrants - not to everyone (for example certain categories, or only when admin changes some status). Is that possible?
 So far, all settings I tried didn't have the wanted result ...

Hi Ute

There is no option to only generate and send invoice to selected registrants. If you enable invoice, it will be sent to everyone
