User E-Mail configuration was created by Peter Nomden
Hello, how can I set it up so that various users who have booked a course/event do not receive any notification by email?
I have the email settings under Configuration > General.
But where do I specify that users 2.3.6.8 etc. do not want to receive any emails/notifications?
Data protection in the EU.

Hi, wouldn't it be a good improvement if I said that this could be excluded for certain users?
This is required by law in Germany and the EU, so that users can decide this for themselves.
This is regulated by law in our country.
I have already entered a fake email address for users,
but Joomla only allows one email address. If I have already entered a fake email address there, as is currently the case, the provider deactivates the mailbox for sending emails because too many incorrect emails are being sent to incorrect email addresses.

EU has so many strange rule. But this is the first time I heard about this request, does that mean these users should not receive email when they register for an account on via Joomla? I haven't seen Joomla has a setting for that as well

Hello, yes, you're right – the EUZ has some regulations that make our work difficult.
No, Joomla can't do that, as far as I know. But an application running on Joomla should be able to do this.
For example, I have software installed on a Windows PC, but the Windows PC cannot send confirmation emails for the installed application; this is done by the application/software, e.g. the user can say that they do not want to receive emails from you.

This is still a very strange requirement to me. If it is required by law, Joomla core will need to support it and then extensions will follow the rule (maybe a settings in will need to be added to user account to allow users to decide whether they want to receive email or not)
With that said, I will wait for feedback from other customers to see if it is really needed before trying to find a solution

Tuan
