Reduced Rate when they select 2 workshops was created by lcabezas
Good day.
I've been using EB for several years now and am very happy with how flexible the extension is, with great support from Tuan and his team.
I have a scenario for an event that I just can't figure out how to implement and if it's possible. I may have not explored some of the features of custom fields.
I know about the Discount Bundle but that would mean they need to register to multiple events. In this case, we would like them to use single event since we have a capacity and we don't use shopping cart and no login. Shopping cart is a bit confusing for others.
The scenario is that we have 2-day workshop. Each workshop is independent with each other. For illustration, we will use Day 1 and Day 2 workshops.
Day 1 has a price of $100 and a capacity of 50 participants
Day 2 has a price of $200 and a capacity of 30 participants
A registrant can either choose Day 1 or Day 2 to attend to, BUT, if they select both, they get a reduced rate (or discounted rate) for both days and pay only $250.
The reduced rate has a limited capacity also of up to 20 participants only. This means only 20 people can avail of the reduced rate, after that... it will not be available anymore.
With all these, the quantity per day should also be deducted from...
Appreciate any inputs or workarounds.
Thanks, Lito

Hi Lito
1. I suggest to use Ticket Types to handle this kind of registration, see docs.joomdonation.com/eventsbooking/plugins/ticket-types
2. But there is no way to handle discount as described. It is special requirement, and not supported by the sysem
Regards,
Tuan

It's not as elegant of a solution, but I think you can get around this by setting up a third event which is actually a combination, with a capacity of 20 ppl, and reducing the capacity of the others as appropriate. So people would have 3 options:
Event 1: Day 1 only, $100, capacity 30.
Event 2: Day 2 only, $200, capacity 10.
Event 3: Day 1 & 2, $250, capacity 20.
If you have higher demand for one day only, you can adjust the capacities of that event & Event 3 accordingly. You can also set Event 3 to be hidden once full.
Hope that helps.

Thanks Melissa,
This is what we did previously. We also put a note on Day 1 and Day 2 only that if they want to avail the reduced rate, they can click the new link...
We just need to monitor the registrations to make sure we adjust immediately.
Was looking for a better solution.
Regards,
Lito

In case you setup 3 different events like that, consider using Auto Register plugin
docs.joomdonation.com/eventsbooking/plugins/auto-registration
so that when users register for Event 3, they will be registered automatically to Event 1 and Event 2 (mean available places for these two events will still be handled properly)

Thanks, Tuan on this.
This will be a good option.
Just to clarify, for Event 3, would that mean that all fields should be the same as Event 1 and 2?
Also, if Event 1 and 2 has QR Code tickets, do they receive 2 emails? As if, they register on both separately.

Lito

- Fields do not matter. But Yes, it should be the same so that the data could be passed from registration record of Event 3 to two other events
- Please edit the plugin Events Booking - Auto Register, set Send Emails parameter to Yes. Then they will receive two emails as if they register for the two events manually

I've tried Tuan's recommendation and used Auto Register and it worked like a charm.
Thanks, Tuan.
