Customize Search Dates drop-down?

Is it possible to customize the drop-down search options for the events search box that appears at the top of the events listing? Our events are very spread out and there are few, so the search options Today, Tomorrow, This Week, and Next Week aren't particularly useful. A more useful option would be month & year selectors. Is this possible?

It is possible, but you will have to customize code to query data from the selected duration, too. Something is not easy unless you know programming
