Single event showing multiple times in Upcoming events & need to add padding

When I have only one event scheduled in my Upcoming Events Slider which is set to show 3 events, it shows that same event 3 times. I won't be handling the event management moving forward so I can't keep checking the website and changing either the filter or the # of events showing.

Also, is there a way to change the padding on the slider? I don't want it to fill the entire width of the template. I like the arrows but I've disabled them because they sit way to close to the thumbnails. There should be a decent amount of white space between the arrow and the thumbnails so they don't get lost.

For this, could you please submit a support ticket sending us super admin account of your site and link to the page which the slider is being used?
