Different Treatment of Cut-Off Date

It seems that there is a slightly different treatment of an event cut-off date between the upcoming events module and the event calendar and event lists.

My events have the cut-off date set to be the day before e.g.

Event Date 10/06/2011
Cut-off Date 9/06/2011

If today's date is 9/06/2011 the event is not shown in the events module but it is displayed as bookable in the events list / calendar.
The latter is how I would expect it to behave.
