date formats was created by gdavidovic
I need to change the date format that displays for events so that the month shows up as either mm or mmm (ie Jan or January) ... my events may be for both Canada and Australia and the format is traditionally written different so just using numbers is too confusing (i.e. 1/4/11 means Jan 4 in Canada and April 1 in Australia)
I read here in one other posting a link to some parameters that should be accepted but I tried and does not work
seems in the configuration date field I should be able to use %b instead of m (but then the text %b shows on my event)
I am sure it can be done -would anyone be able to help please?
Thanks

Hi
Do you use the extension on Joomla 1.5 or Joomla 1.6 website ? If you are using Joomla 1.5, %b should work (see list of accepted parametters at php.net/manual/en/function.strftime.php ) .
If you are using Joomla 1.6, you will need to use M in the format. Please see list of accepted parameters at php.net/manual/en/function.date.php
Hope this help !
Regards,
Tuan

Tuan - -thanks, that worked, I am using 1.6 --
Keep up the great work and great support. My company was using a fairly expensive event booking system and yours is so much easier to use and the layouts are nicer than the other one --I'll be sure to make a donation to keep adding enhancements
