Waitlist email disable?

I feel like I should know the answer to this, but I don't: can I disable the auto-email to waitlist people when there's a cancellation? 

This isn't normally an issue, as people can't cancel their own registration, and I thought I had a workaround by activating a new registration before I cancelled one, but all the waitlist people received a message saying that there was a spot available; there wasn't. 

I've deleted the content of the waitlist notification subject and body emails: will that stop them from sending?

Hi Melissa

For any emails in Events Booking, just empty the subject of the email and it won't be sent anymore. So what you did is correct (but only email subject need to be dropped, not body)
