Event Queuing System

A client has got quite a high traffic website, they had an issue a few months back with an event went on sale with 500 tickets and Event Booking sold over the capacity of the tickets.

They have got another event coming up in a few months and they have asked whether there is a queuing system available for Event Booking, similar to how Ticketmaster handles the ticket queue. Is this possible please?

We do not have that Queuing System implemented yet. It is complicated, I'm afraid. It takes time for users to be redirected to payment gateway and complete payment from there, so sometime, it causes overbooking and hard to avoid, especially on a high traffic website, where many people book for the last few remaining tickets for same time

There is a config option to reduce over booking by setting the Count Awaiting Payment Registration Time (Minutes) config option to 2 or 3 minutes for example. But it won't prevent overbooking completely
