Hi,I’m using JoomDonation Event Booking (latest version on Joomla 5), and I’ve run into an issue with deposit settings when creating new events. My typical workflow is:
  • Use “Save as Copy” to duplicate a previous year’s event
  • Update title, dates, and basic info
  • Save the new event
In one case, I found that the Deposit Amount field was set to 0.00 on the new event, even though the original event (which I duplicated) had a deposit amount set (e.g., $50.00).This caused the new event to require full payment instead of allowing deposit payments. It’s certainly possible this was “human error,” so I’m not ruling that out — but I wanted to check whether there’s anything in the system that might also cause this behavior.Questions:
  1. Is the Deposit Amount field expected to carry over when using “Save as Copy”?
  2. Are there any known cases where this field gets reset (e.g., defaults, category overrides, or configuration settings)?
  3. Is there anything specific I should be checking to ensure deposit settings are consistently applied when duplicating events?
Everything else in the event appears to copy correctly — this seems isolated to the deposit field. Thanks for any insight.

Due to the way save as copy works (basically, making a new record base on data of existing records), the fields will only be copied if it is being shown on the form when the Save As Copy button is being clicked

The deposit field, in this case, I guess not being displayed on the form and that is the reason it is not being copied ?

Does this happens on frontend of backend?

Back end. When I entered an amount into the field ($50), then registrants were able to select the Deposit option on the Front End form.
I was alerted by office staff that people were upset that they couldn't select the deposit option.
Then I discovered that the field was set to 0.00. I looked back at the prior years's registration and it was correctly configured.

Hmm

I could not re-procedure the issue. I tried to click on an event which has Deposit amount set, press Save As Copy. Then check the copied event and deposit amount properly copied. Could you please try again one more time? If it still does not work, please submit a support ticket so that we can check it directly on your site

Regards,

Tuan

OK. If you see the error again, please try to find a reliable way to replicate the error and tell me step by step what I need to do to see the error. I will then check to see what's wrong and get it sorted

Regards,

Tuan
