Converting existing Eventsbooking Users to Joomla and Moodle Account users was created by Wynand Louw
Good day team
I have used Eventsbooking on one website where we did Continued Professional Development training. An event was created, and registrants could register for the event without the need to create a Joomla account.
We want to change that now, to enable Joomla Account registration for all new future events and use an integration with Moodle through Joomdle. So, I still want the registrants to use Events booking for the purpose of training and the current records that we have to keep plus the current certificates.
The first step is to now convert the current Events booking registrants' information to create a Joomla User Account. Would that be possible. I know that I can display past certificates within Events booking.
The Second step I think would be to Install Joomdle, and Moodle, which would now be used to issue the certificates after the users have answered some questions. User who could not attend, can then log in at any time to catch up on the training and watch the video, answer the questions and get their certificate. If they need past certificates issued only on Events Booking, they would be able to download that to since it would be link to their Joomla User account.
What would be the best way to accomplish this transition?

The first thing, as you said, is to write a script to create user account for existing registrants. The main question is what would be username (should we use email for that) and what would be password? Maybe password should be random generated

That would cost you small fee. You can hire someone or hire us to develop the script for you
But maybe you should complete setup Joomdle, and Moodle first because Joomla account might need to be added to these extensions, so creating Joomla user account should be done later
Regards,
Tuan

Joomdle has an integration plugin with Events booking, so when you log in and register on Events booking for the training, you will be registered on Moodle. So that would be link to a specific category.
Thought I will export all the registrations from the EB database in CSV and then clean it up that it will match one line of information for each person, and then use that information to import in Joomla User data table, at least that is the idea at this stage, unless everyone must register an account before locking logging in but I am not 100% sure.
Will export Joomla User Registration file and match by trying first with one or two eventsbooking users and see if it will work.

When I complete the information on the Event Options tab for current training event, I want the User Integration on this specific Events category, Set to Yes so that there info as first time user be registered on Joomla User Re4gistration. The plugin was enabled for that.
When I save the event, I get the following error message:An error has occurred.
Must they rather create a Joomla account before they can register for the event? For other genera events I do not need people to be registered. Only the training, so that I can display their Past Event certificates and from now on forward to log in and register a specific course that is linked to Moodle via Joomdle plugin for Events booking.
Any idea what is causing this eroor?

Hi
User does not need a Joomla account to register for the event. For the error you are having, we have no clue about it yet. Please submit a support ticket sending us super user account of your site and tell us what we need to do to see the error
We are going to check to see why error happens and get it sorted
Regards,
Tuan

HI Tuan
I have set error to max. Looks like it is a Joomdle extension causing the issue.
JROOT/plugins/eventbooking/joomdlegroupseventbooking/joomdlegroupseventbooking.php:46
I switched off the plugin and EB is working now. Thanks.
Will report it to Joomdle.
