Update 5.3.0 Event Slider module no longer working

Hi,
The Event Slider module is not displaying categories, and when we save it, this error message appears in the backend administration: htmlspecialchars(): Argument #1 ($string) must be of type string, array given.
We are using the latest version of Event Booking: 5.3.0
But the module version is still: 3.12.3 ?
Joomla 5.4.0
PHP 8.2.28
Can you help us resolve this issue quickly?Thank you in advance.

Please submit a support ticket sending us super user account of your site and tell us what we need to do to see the error
