EB 5.2.0 effect - extra emails from Joomla

Hi Tuan,

When the Auto Membership Settings activated, in 5.1.0 there were 2 emails generated.

1 to the customer and 1 to the Booking manager email address.

Since the install of 5.2.0 we now see 4 emails generated.

The same 2 as per above from the Events Booking software.

And now 2 from Joomla
1 to the customer saying, Thank you for registering.....
1 to the administration email account for Joomla saying, A new user has registered.....

We would only receive an email from Joomla to the administration email account, if the purchase failed, and the Registrants, registration would be at Pending.

Is this supposed to happen?

Thought as Events Booking is handling the registration, that Joomla, would not be involved in communicating with them, only Events Booking undertaking the communication?

User Registration Integration - is set to Yes.

Hi Robert

There is actually no change of the behavior from Events Booking 5.1.0 and 5.2.0. When users register for an event from frontend of your site and enter username and password to register for a Joomla account, Events Booking uses Joomla API for creating user account, so the email is still sent as if users register for user account using Joomla core user registration form

So in short, the user account emails are sent is expected behavior and we could not change it

Hi Tuan, interesting, as that is what was happening in 5.1.0 as per our query, going from 2 emails to 4 is noticeable. So now it is not broken.

As I said, that's how it works and there has been no changes to the plugin from 5.1.0 to 5.2.0, so I have no clue why there were only two emails in 5.1.0
