we have an interesting use case, and i think we have been able to solve it mostly right out of the box with your wonderful joomla extension, except that it actually kind of fails - we dont know if it is a bug or the expected outcome.
here is the scenario: we have multiple types of users who will access our events booking system: guests, community members, and corporate members.
to keep it simple for now, excluding the possibility to allow the guests to use a coupon for the moment.
we simply have community members who will all receive a 1 time use coupon per event (per member who is logged in)
and we have corporate members who will all receive a coupon that could be used 5 times per event. (per member who is logged in)
so we generate 2 different coupons, one for the community members, and one for the corporate members. max usage set to 1 for community members and max usage set to 5 for corporate members.
and then we set the access to community members for the community members, and we set the access to corporate members for corporate members..
seems to make sense to us that now, the community coupon should work for the community members, and the corporate coupon should not work for the community members
and the reverse would also be true that the corporate coupon should work for the corporate members, and the community coupon should not work for the corporate members.
however.. i am finding that the community members can use the corporate members coupon.. and the corporate members can use the community member's coupon
my understanding is that the way that the access works, is that it only shows the coupon field if the the user is at that level, and therefore it doesnt matter whether they are community or corporate members, the field will show regardless, then, and the coupon is agnostic, and does not check access level to allow usage of the coupon code.
can you let us know if the coupon code should be checking the access level before allowing the coupon to be valid and applied? i think if it's able to check the access level of the user before checking if the coupon code is valid would be great.
