Custom field - date format doesn't change

Custom field - date format doesn't change was created by ausryf
I have a custom field as a date, but would like it to be displayed in d-m-y, but its in y-m-d format. I have changed the configuration of the date format to %d-%m-%Y, but notices that only affects the events.

please help!
