Invoice numbering

I am using the prefix feature of the invoice numbering to distinguish the year of the invoice. The rest of the number is resettled every year. I also have noticed that the original invoice files are saved in a folder on the web server.

When a customer login to their account they are able to show their booking history. They also can find related invoices. But if they download invoices to take a closer look the prefix have changed to the one of the actual year. Is it meant to work like this. I realize that it had been a better choice if the invoices was reconfigured without changing the prefix every year.It is the same in the admin interface at backend.

Because the invoices are saved as in original numbering - is it possible to get these mapped instead of getting new invoices created when downloaded?Any suggestions to this?

Just now I use WF2025- as the prefix. Next year I would use VW2026- I think.

Instead of hard code 2025, 2026, you should set Invoice Prefix to WF[YEAR] and the issue won't happen

The [YEAR] tag will be replaced with the year invoice created, and the issue won't happen
