Hi,

EB seems to only be able to display events by category or location from pre-configured site menu links. I need to be able to create a menu on the front end that allows multiple filters when displaying events like with event management in the backend. Currently, I seem to be limited to displaying events by a given category or location - but not using both at the same time.

Specifically, I need to allow a front end user to display events for a user-selected specific event category, combined with a specific user-selected location, and perhaps even within a specific user-selected time period. Is this currently possible? If not, could it be? I can already do most of this in BE event management, but EB lacks similar for front-end list display - unless I am simply missing the way to do it.

I've attempted to create my own event display menu linking to pre-configured EB display links, but It cannot support multiple filter combinations. See the blue submenu at  www.certifiedinfosec.com/event-calendar . It's a half-baked workaround.

This is a critical feature since we schedule 150+ events for an upcoming year. Without it, users are lost in the events display.

Hi Allen

When you create menu item to display events like that, you can already choose the categories/locations... you want to display events from in menu item parameters. Won't that work for your need? Or I mis-understand your requirement ?

Tuan

Hi Tuan,

As I explained, I've already created a menu that allows a use to view events from categories I've already pre-selected. You will find this in the "Filter by Subject" menu items in the blue submenu navigation bar at  www.certifiedinfosec.com/event-calendar .

However, this shows all locations and times within a given subject-matter category - which is overwhelming.

I was able to create other menu items to allow a use to "Filter by Location."

However this shows a give location with all subject-matter categories - which is also overwhelming.

I need to give the user the ability to search by category + location combinations. This is already supported in back-end event administration with drop-down filters. Front-end browsers need the same capability for front-end event viewing.

Regards,

Allen

    Hi Allen

If I understand your question correctly, you can go to Events Booking -> Configuration, look at Themes tab, set Show Search Bar config option to Yes and you will see the filter available

    Could you please try ?
