Date field on frontend submit-event-form

The date field on the frontend event submission form is a text field. How can we make it a calendar type date field?

It is a date picker field, not a text field as you said. Maybe it causes by your template override the date picker field somehow? Could you please switch to use Joomla core template, then check to see if the issue still happens ?

Yes, it is working with the Joomla's default template. I will report it to the template developer.
