Cut Off Date - closes event registration one day to early

We show the next upcoming event in the module "upcoming events". The idea is that only events with possible registration show. That works fine, events are showing only if the cut off date is later than today.
But on the event detail, the registration button doesn't show on the last day of possible registration, means on the day of the cut off date.

Example:
The cut off date of the event is 21.09.2023.
The module "upcoming events" shows the event until the day 21.09.2023 ends.
The event detail shows the registration button until the day 20.09.2023 ends.

So it happens that for one day there is announced an event to register (in the module). But when the user clicks the event he doesn't find a button to register.
What we need is the handling of the cut off date like it does the module.

Is there somewhere an option to change this behaviour? Or is it possible with an overwrite?

If cut off date is 21.09.2023, then the system should allows registration until that date. Maybe you are using wrong timezone on your site? Please go to System -> Global Configuration, make sure Website Time Zone config option set to your country time zone and check it again. The error should be gone

Thank you for your advice. The timezone in Global Configuration was wrong (UTC). But unfortunately changing it to the timezone of the website / webserver (Europe/Zurich) didn't help.
I tried also other timezones as I'm actually not in the same time zone. But the register button in event detail doesn't show if the cut off date is today.

So the defined timezone is important, but with all tests on cut off date the register button doesn't show on event detail page.
Do you have any other idea what could be wrong?
