Hi,

How can it be achieved that the event end date of the parent event shows the date of the last childevent as end date?

When booking, only the parent event should be booked - but so that it is clear that all child events are also included, the end date of the last child event should be displayed.

e.g. Kundalini Yoga is a recurring event in the period September 18, 2023 to January 29, 2024. However, in the Parent Event only 9/18/2023 17:00 - 9/18/2023 18:00 is displayed. I would have expected here that the end date of the Parent Event would show the entire duration of the course.

Or is there another solution for this?

I hope this was understandable what I meant.

best regards,
Florian

Hello Florian

When you create a recurring event, each child event is actually an independent event with it own registrants. So the parent event, just display it's own end date, not the end date of last child event. If you want to display end date of last child event like that, you will need to perform some customization to the code

Hi Tuan,

is there a chance to have it as feature wish in one of the upcomig releases implemented as setting?
For sports courses it would be highly needed to see the full duration of the course instead of only the date for the specific event.

best regards,
Florian

Hi Florian

So far, I haven't seen any customers requested for this feature, so I don't have plan for it now. If there are more customers need it in the future, I might support it. But for the time being, I guess you will still need to perform some customization yourself

this is interesting...because I'm not aware how to solve this for courses (e.g. university or sports) in a good way without such a feature.
Maybe I'm missing something?

Hi

I don't know exactly how the children events in your case will be used for. There are two ways to display this kind of event :

1. One way is to have it displayed as individual events on the list. And users can then, register for the event they want.

2. The other option, is display all children events under parent details page joomdonationdemo.com/eventbooking/featur...tures/multiple-dates . So users can see list of available dates and can choose to register for the date you want

yeah but thing is the course is from Monday 18th September 2023 till 29th January 2024. Almost every Monday this course takes place and it has to be booked once (the parent event). But all the child's should be also visible in the calendar so that people know when exactly the course takes place e.g. on 25th Dec. 2023 there is no course (this child was deleted).
There shouldn't be the possibility to chose a separate child event for booking. It is only needed for displaying in the calendar.
So for me this is a fundamental thing which is terrible missing.
