I have featured events displayed on my home page. When I click on one of the events I need it to display in a different Joomla Template Layout than the home page. Can anyone help? I have a Default template but it doesn't use it.
Even better would be to open the event in a modal.
It depends on what method you are using to display these events on homepage. Usually, the solution would be:
1. Create a menu item to link to upcoming events timeline layout for example (you can use any menu item type you want). Configure the menu item to use the template you need
2. Then configure the events on homepage to use that menu item
