Speaker Translation was created by Kaitie
I have a mutilingual website and the users are creating one 'item' per event and using the translation fields for the event details.

They are also using the speakers plugin, but cannot enter a translation for the speakers' bio.  Is this possible somehow?

Thanks!

Hello, dear ones.
Tell me, have you translated the speakers yet? I see this topic was discussed 11 months ago. For us, speaker credentials are one of the most important reasons for attending the event. And, if information about the speaker is in another language, then not all participants will be able to read and understand it.

Hello,

We have the same need and find a workaround but we will be pleased with the possibility of doing it natively at some point (thanks Tuan).

We use the following code in the editor:

<div data-type="eb-speaker-description-en">
<h5>Title of the person</h5>
Biography
</div>
<div> </div>
<div data-type="eb-speaker-description-fr">
<h5>Titre de la personne</h5>
Biographie
</div>

It works well for us.

Best

So exactly what information you want to translate for each speaker?

  • Title
  • URL (in our case, we have a different URL for each language on the Faculty website the professor is teaching for).
  • Description
We could also stick with the code we are using right now and add that information under it and not use the fields your plugin provides.

Thanks, Tuan

Thank you, dear Pascal Wickert! :) I use this method when describing an event. Just not a <div>, but a <section>. But these, of course, are all “crutches”. I hope dear Tuan will respond to this thread. If he says that “everything is still ahead!”, then in the description of the speakers I will also do it almost as you wrote.
